Pegasus Battlefield Tours, General Eisenhower, Gary Weight,
General Eisenhower talks to the 101st Airborne prior to D-Day. Apparently they were discussing fly-fishing among other things…

Gary established Pegasus Battlefield Tours in 2006. At first his emphasis was solely on Normandy but now spends most of his time conducting tours across the battlefields of the UK, France, Belgium, Holland and Germany. He enjoys the process of researching family connections and has conducted a good number of tours that retrace the footsteps of family members and units from the UK to the Normandy beaches all the way through to Germany.

Whether it is the American, Canadian, British, German or Polish units, Gary has an equally deep knowledge and has met and interviewed many veterans and therefore has many first hand accounts to pass on within the tours. He uses a wide assortment of maps, photographs and personal accounts to ‘bring alive’ the tours.

Since 2017 Gary has been conducting tours that focus on the British Special Operations Executive (SOE) and the French Resistance. These tours explore the clandestine activities of these organisations but also take a very close look at the complexities of civilian life under the occupation. These tours have proved a great success and Gary has gradually become the ‘go-to guy’ for this previously overlooked facet of battlefield touring. He is currently writing a series of books on this subject.

Since 2006 Gary has conducted over 3000 tours – leading thousands across the wartorn battlefields of the UK, France, Belgium, Holland and Germany.

Please view the dedicated Pegasus website for more information.

During the winter months Gary lectures at various establishments. If you would like to book a talk please use the contact page.
